The last few months you have probably been seeing or have at least heard the term “shacket”. Some may be thinking “umm, what?” and that’s fine too! So if you’ve been wondering “what’s a shacket?” or if you just now are wondering, read on my friend! I am here to enlighten you on how to rock fall’s biggest trend. I’m going to talk about variations of this style, the perfect times to wear it and how you can style it in an outfit. In addition, I will include a few links (non-sponsored) if you decide you want a shacket for yourself!

Firstly, the term “shacket” is not the most beautiful to say. I’m not the biggest fan of the word for some reason? I don’t know why? It’s like those people who hate the term “moist” for no real reason (I know some of you just cringed). Shacket is formed by the words “shirt” and “jacket”. These shirt jackets tend to be a bit bulkier and longer than your average shirt.

So now that you know what a shacket is, I’m sure your next question is why should you bother getting one of these? Shackets come in many styles, materials, and patterns to suit many different preferences. You can find anything from flannel, faux leather, corduroy, plaid, checkered, solid colors, extra long versions, etc. The majority of clothing stores have jumped on this trend train and have at least a few options. My shacket is from H&M and is the most comfortable and warm thing I have worn so far this fall!

I am always a lover of dressing up, but sometimes a simple outfit can be just as cute and more fitting for a certain circumstance. This outfit is perfect for going out to get a coffee with your friends (coffee is life, just saying), going to the mountains/cabin, running errands, hitting up your favorite farmers market, etc. Who doesn’t love wearing comfortable clothes and getting complimented on it at the same time because it’s also fashionable as hell?

Speaking of looking fashionable, there are always many different ways you can achieve that! The shacket is a perfect piece for layering! As I did here, you can throw on a cozy sweater underneath for extra warmth and to add a pop of color. You can wear it with your favorite pair of jeans or leggings and boots or sneaks. This is also the perfect outfit to pair with warm and cozy socks to show peaking above your boots. In addition, I thought this was a great one to throw on a cute scrunchy in a half-up hairstyle. There are so many outfit possibilities!
I hope I’ve answered some questions you may have had about shackets (or maybe that you didn’t even know you had).. Are you going to get one for yourself?! Do you already have at least one that you love? Have a question relating to this post? Leave me a comment! I’d love to hear from you!
