It’s December! If you haven’t busted out your sweaters and sweater dresses, you should definitely do so. This week I am giving you a few ideas as to how to style that black sweater dress you have in your closet. And if you don’t have one… wait, you don’t have one?! Well I got you on that too! I am sharing the two black sweater dresses I’m featuring here, plus some others. Because you know, options! Read on for 5 ways to style a black sweater dress!

1. Add A Statement Piece
Instantly go from simple outfit to glam just by adding an eye-catching necklace. This little black {sweater} dress is super adorable and fits like a glove! Not to mention the mid-waist tie and open back design are nice additions. I got this dress from an awesome online boutique in the Seattle area called Lilac and Lemon. I noticed they no longer have this dress in stock so I have attached an extremely similar dress below as well as similar necklace styles.
2. Wear With Winter Accessories
Here I featured the same dress from Lilac and Lemon, but instead paired with a cute and cozy hat and scarf (also from Lilac and Lemon). This whole outfit is so comfortable! You will not hardly believe it is possible to be this comfortable while also looking this cute. Well I’m here to tell you that yes, yes it is!
3. Pair It With Tights And A Jacket
The next three outfits I am wearing a turtleneck sweater dress from Lulus. Also super cozy and perfect for a winter outfit. As you can see above, I added some polka dot tights and a leather jacket to spice up this look. This would be great for a date night! It’s super sexy and chic. I can also guarantee that you will feel like a bad ass when you step out of the house in this get up. But you know what? You’re always a bad ass so this is not new.

4. Head Out With An Open Knit Coat
Okay, so I have to say COVID is seriously cramping my style when it comes to writing out ideas for when/where you can wear these outfits! Soooo, for now let’s just pretend I’m talking post-COVID (ugh, hopefully this is sooner than later). This outfit would be great for a holiday party or going out to a nice dinner. The coat is extremely comfortable and soft, and helps add that extra layer to keep you warm in the winter months.
So you may ask, what use do I have for this outfit during COVID though?? Well, no one ever said it was a crime to look this darn cute just because! Girl, you dress up and go to the grocery store if you want! Get on with your bad self!
5. Add A Blazer And Boots
Alright, last but not least! This outfit is brought to you by boots, blazers and bridge architecture. A blazer is a great way to dress up any outfit. This would be a great look for a holiday party or for work. Depending of course on where you work. This works great for the office! But for a veterinarian like me, I think I’ll avoid the risk of getting God knows what on this cute outfit.
